Lady Gaga, is an American singer-songwriter and dance-pop/electronica musician. Lady Gaga was born in March 1986, in New York, to an Italian family. Lady Gaga attended Convent of the Sacred HeartSchool and, as a little girl, Lady GaGa remembers singing into a plastic tape recorder to the likes of Cyndi Lauperand Michael Jackson By age 4, Lady Gaga had taught herself to play the piano by ear, and when Lady GaGa was a teenager Lady Gaga penned her first song. When Lady Gaga was just 14, Lady GaGa was playing open mic nights at New York’s Bitter End, and by the age of 17 Lady GaGa had been one of 20 kids in the world to get early admission to Tisch School of the Arts at NYU.
Lady Gaga started working the local Lower East Side club scene, performing then-hits like "Beautiful Dirty Rich" while donning her unique stage outfits. When Lady Gaga was 20 she started working for Interscope Records and was busy writing songs for other musical groups, such as The Pussycat Dolls
According to an interview conducted by Ron Slomowicz, the stage name Lady Gaga is a reference to the song "Radio Ga-Ga" by Queen.
